MATERIAL(S): Faience (ancient beads), Glass (modern bead) DIMENSIONS: 20.5" (52 cm) CONDITION: Intact and Fully Wearable. COMMENTS: This lovely necklace is made with Ancient Egyptian faience mummy beads and MODERN, BROWN GLASS BEAD. The ancient beads have been restrung on new, 20 lb. test fishing line (with modern clasp) for safety and preservation. The necklace alternates in colour utilizing multicoloured mummy beads and a large, amber-coloured MODERN glass bead for a striking combination of ancient and modern. It is interesting to note that the mummy beads still retain a faint hint ancient perfume. Quite extraordinary is the thought that we can experience these beads much as the Ancient Egyptians did over 2000 years ago, with multiple senses. This really adds to the historical experience.
